LIFE TEEN Music Ministry - Revelation Oct 5 '03 Mass Archive

Tuesday 9/30/2003 11:34 PM

Great news!  For those of you that haven't heard, we are part of Life Night this weekend.  Revelation and Risen (a worship group from Covenant Methodist) are doing a joint concert.  Our portion will be 3-5 songs because we will have been playing and singing all day by that time of night!  Our set is short but it will be fun!

Shine Jesus Shine
We Gotta Love
Shout to the Lord
Find us Ready (Brick by Brick)

Lord I Lift Your Name On High (with Risen at the end)

Any other request, let me know.  We may be able to squeeze it in or switch with one listed.  This night will be great for us to get a first hand look at how others worship and things we can do to improve upon what we have.  Enjoy the night!

The Gathering song for this week's Mass is....

Salvation Belongs To Our God

Trumpets.... I have two songs transposed.  Eucharistic People and Rain Down!  Rain Down transposed to 5 or 6 sharps!  Be Careful.  I will shoot for more by the weekend but still transpose yourself to be prepared.  Again if you only want to do chorus that is fine.  I am still learning the program so input of the notes is slow now but once I get into a groove we will be fine.

Also, some of the music that I left in my box we may do in November.  Hold on to it because more is coming.

For those looking for "We Are One Body"  I have a readable copy that I will get to you ASAP.  For those that played the old one know how bad it was.

Rehearsal this Sat. morning at 10.  All are welcomed.  We will try to keep it under 2 hrs.

Eat good before you come out on Sunday because it will be a long day.  We should be done by 8 or 8:10 that evening and then we can listen to Risen!

I am excited about this opportunity to share our gifts with others!  Come with an open heart and let the Spirit lead!

Rehearsal time for Sunday 4:30  Set up time 4 pm.

If you know that you will not be there, let me know but I hope everyone can make it because this will be a cool experience.

Peace and Love,

Derrick

Sorry I have been away for sooo long. More computer problems again.  Advice for the day... BACK UP EVERYTHING YOU DO ON YOUR COMPUTER!  UPGRADE YOUR ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM OFTEN!

Moving along, music is in my box at the rectory.  There are a lot of songs there.  Some we will do this month, some we will do in the future.  Most of you have them already but for our new folks please grab a copy.

BRASS PLAYERS  you may want to start transposing once you get your music because I don't know if I will get every song done by next week.  I hope to have the selections for Mass done by then or earlier.  I am still learning how to work the program.

For Mass

The Lord Will Bless His People
Make Us A Eucharistic People
We Are One Body
Rain Down

Prepare these songs also

Shine Jesus Shine
We Gotta Love
Shout To The Lord
Find Us Ready
Our God
Salvation Belongs To Our God

Great Job on the 14th.  I have heard nothing but positive feedback about our group.  You should be proud.  Let's take it to the next step!

Any questions, please let me know.  Are there any other Revelation favorites that you would like to do?

I still need your addresses!  I have 4.

Have a great weekend.

Peace in Christ,

Derrick

The dates for Life Teen Masses are:

bulletSept 14
Oct 5 (1st Sunday)
Nov 9
Dec 14
Dec 24   Operation Santa Claus Mass
Jan 11
Feb 8
March 14
April 18 (3rd Sunday)
May 2 (1st Sunday)
June 13

PLEASE MARK THESE DATES IN YOUR CALENDARS, ON YOUR WALLS, IN YOUR LOCKERS or wherever you look on a regular basis so you do not forget. Hopefully everyone will be able to make all of the dates but if for some reason you are unable to make the Mass, email, call, send a post card, sky-write it, just let me know so we can adjust!

Remember Life Teen Mass starts at 6:30 PM on the second Sunday of the month (unless otherwise noted). Mass days, we will rehearse from 4:30 PM TO 6 to prepare ourselves for the Mass.

Also plan for a short rehearsal on Saturdays before the Mass. Last year we would meet at 10 am and go for as long as we needed. I am flexible with times. If there is another time or day you would like where more people could be involved I am all for it. Just let me know. We can take the group to the next level with more rehearsal, however we will have to find a good time for everyone because we are competing with sports, music, drama, work, etc

If anyone has any concerns or questions about anything please feel free to email or call at any time. I am here to help you in any way I can.

Also I need to do an up-to date mailing address/email/phone list.  Please send me your info - I want to compile a list so that we can reach each other by any means necessary.  If you don't feel comfy sending email, give it to me next time you see me.

Peace and Love,
In Christ

Derrick
