Subject: Thank
You
Hello! Merry New Year. Happy Christmas or is it Merry Christmas, Happy
New Year! Hope all is well.
A few things... First, on behalf of the Banks Family, we would like to
extend out deepest thanks for all you have done, the flowers, prayers and
kind words for our Mother who passed away on 12/10. We can't say thank you
enough because every little bit helps us deal with our loss. Our Mom (Carlean
Banks) suffered from MS for a number of years and now she is REALLY home
for Christmas
.
Also I wanted to send a special thanks to all those folks who came out
today to prepare for OSC. Thank you for putting up with my piano playing
or lack there of!
We will be in good shape for Wednesday. The plan is to meet at St.
Francis on Wednesday around 2:30 PM and journey to the Adam's Mark from
there. If you need a ride, I am sure someone or myself can help. Some
may choose to meet at the Adam's Mark on their own and that's fine. Set
up/rehearsal will be at 3 PM.
EAT WELL or BRING SOMETHING WITH YOU! It will be a long day! Mass starts
at 5 and should be over by 7 PM
Dress nice! I will be wearing a suit so wear what you would to a wedding
or church or concert etc.
Please make sure Joey S. Jackie D. receive this info! Also, Tim P. please
forward to your buddy Dan. I have his email in the car (a whole lot of
good it is doing me now)! Thanks!
Have a great week!

OSC Info
Here's
the deal.
We need to be at the Adam's Mark Hotel at 3 PM for setup and Rehearsal. We
will be joined by a piano player, 3 guitar players, various vocalists, and
the sax and trombone players from last year.
I am waiting on a program because it has been selected already. I know we
are doing most of the things we have done in the past but I know she
mentioned one new thing that I don't think we have.
For those that want to rehearse this weekend, the best time for the church
is Sunday after the 11:30 AM Mass. I am good with that, however we would
need to use the Library because there will be people decorating the church.
The Library is the only other spot with a piano.
Tomorrow if we have a rehearsal, we would have to go to the rectory
basement. I can bring my keyboard and play through melodies of all the
songs. Yes, that includes Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!
Another option is to skip rehearsing this weekend and save it for
Wednesday. I'm sure we will have to work with the other folks to blend our
sound because I don't know if this group normally plays together or if it is
a collection of people meeting for the first time. That rehearsal will be
important and remember that there may not be that much time there because of
sound check and set up.
I am available whenever. Let me know. Even if you just want to meet to get
music, that is fine also. The songs are Christmas carols in no specific
order...
Silent Night/Night of Silence
Joy To The World
Hark The Herald
Angels We Have heard
The First Noel
Little Town Of Bethlehem
Away In A Manger
Psalm 98 (All The Ends of The Earth Have Seen The Power of God)
O Come All Ye Faithful
Happy Birthday Baby Jesus
Parts of the Mass
For brass players who would like music, I am waiting on an email with titles
and keys so I can get parts for you. I hope it doesn't come too late.
I will be checking my email through the night and up to 9:15 Am Saturday
Morning to see what is the best course of action. I would lean toward
Sunday especially if most attends that Mass. Plus it gives all of us a days
notice. Rehearsal shouldn't be long and you will get home in plenty of time
to shop or watch the Eagles.
Please get back to me and let me know what works best. I would prefer to do
things all in one day however I am can make arrangements to do both days if
necessary. I will wait to see your responses and send out one more email to
let you know what' s happening.
Please forward this info to Joe S and Jackie D because their emails are
down
Have a great night.
